First step to getting your license

After completing the Basic Traffic Course at Majorstuen Driving School, you will have a good understanding of how traffic works and how to navigate it.

What does the basic traffic course include?

  • Traffic education
  • Traffic and the role of the driver
  • Traffic training, driving practice, and driving experience
  • Duties and actions in the event of traffic accidents and first aid
  • The human factor in traffic and interaction
  • Driving in the dark / night driving / dark driving demo

Training for Class B

It is the total weight of the vehicle that determines which type of license is required. With a Class B driver’s license for passenger cars, you can drive a vehicle with a total weight of up to 3,500 kg.
You may also drive with a trailer with a permitted total weight of up to 750 kg.

The path to a Class B driver’s license

  • You must first complete the basic traffic course before you can begin driving practice.
  • The training is divided into 4 steps and is adapted individually.
  • You will learn the basics of car handling and gain insight into how the car functions.
  • You will practice driving in varied traffic and develop risk awareness.
  • You will learn to drive efficiently, eco-friendly, and economically.
  • Safety courses both on track and in traffic are included as part of the training.
  • The training provides you with the skills for safe interaction with other road users.
  • You will be well-prepared for the driving test and conscious of further development as a driver.

Training for Class BE and B96

To drive with a trailer over 750 kg total weight, you need a driver’s license in class B96 or BE. The training is the same for both, but for BE you must take a driving test at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Training for Class BE and B96

  • With us, you’ll learn to connect and disconnect the trailer, reverse safely, and perform the necessary safety check.
  • You’ll receive training in driving techniques and safe trailer driving in varied traffic.
  • We go through the use of assistants and assessment of turning areas.
  • You’ll receive mandatory instruction in load securing and labeling.
  • For class BE, the training ends with a driving test.

Motorcycle License – A and A2

The MC theory course is mandatory for everyone who will drive in classes A and A2. You must have completed the basic traffic course or be over 25 years old to participate.

If you already have a car license, the basic traffic course is not required, and you can go straight to the basic training, which starts with the 3-hour MC course.

How to get your motorcycle license

  • Mandatory MC course of 3 hours before starting practical training.
  • You will learn riding techniques such as shifting, braking, and low-speed maneuvering.
  • The training includes safety courses in both traffic and on the road.
  • You’ll get training in riding independently in varied traffic environments.
  • The process ends with passing the theory test and completing the riding test with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Moped License – Class AM147

The basic traffic course is mandatory for everyone who wants to drive a moped in class AM147. You must have completed the course and be over 15 years old to begin the training.

If you already have a car driver’s license, the basic traffic course is not required, and you can start directly with the practical part.

How to get ready for your moped license

  • You’ll learn how to operate the moped: shifting gears, braking, steering, and safety checks.
  • The training gives you confidence in traffic and understanding of risk factors.
  • You’ll participate in safety courses and gain practical driving experience.
  • The training ends with a theory test at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
